Not long after Baba Siddique’s death, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has come to the front claiming responsibilities for it. Siddique, one of the tallest political figures of Maharashtra, was very well known for hosting the Grand Iftar Parties attended by several Bollywood biggies and was shot dead on Saturday evening. The Crime Branch had initially claimed a link between the death and the Bishnoi gang which however got even sure after a post was posted online claiming responsibility for the murder.
On Sunday, a post was posted on Facebook by a user named Shubbuu Lonkar who is believed to be Shubham Rameshwar Lonka, a member associated with the Bishnoi gang. The post said that Baba Siddique was murdered because of his close connection with Bollywood actor Salman Khan who has been a long time target of the notorious Bishnoi gang. In the post, the gang has threatened that anyone who is in close connection with Salman Khan or helps the actor will be their target. The post also claimed that Siddique was linked with terrorist Dawood Ibrahim which is also the reason why he was murdered.
Furthermore, the post also said that the murder was in response to the death of Anuj Thapan in police custody, who was one of the suspects in the shooting outside Salman’s house. As per police, Anuj and died by suicide, but his family had claimed and believed that he was tortured in custody. The post that was posted in hindi which translates to
“We do not have any enmity with anyone but whoever helps Salman Khan and the Dawood gang, keep your accounts in order (‘hisab-kitaab kar lena),”
Salman Khan on high alert
Moreover, as a sign of warning, firing was done near the Salman’s house. Followed by which, security has been upgraded for the actor and concern has been raised over his protection. Meanwhile, the police have stated that as Shubbuu Lonkar is already in jail, and it’s his brother Pravin Lonkar, who has posted the threat online using Shubbuu’s account. Followed by which he was detained by the police on Sunday evening. Looking at all of the incidents, investigation is being continued from the Bishnoi angle.
Talking about the death of Siddique, all the three suspects who were involved in the murder of the politician have been arrested and sources have confirmed that “the pistol used for shooting Siddiqui was sent to the accused through courier. It was a prepaid order.”. They also said that
“The earlier plan was to attack Siddique during Ganeshotsav, but they couldn’t execute it. Earlier as well, the accused had tried to attack Siddique multiple times. The Mumbai Police in touch with their counterparts in UP, Delhi and Haryana to help them with the case,”
