Now the bike has been spotted testing in India, and spy shots have surfaced the internet which has got customers excited. The photos reveal several changes that indicate enhanced performance, style, and technology. It is being expected that the Interceptor 650 will be available in different color options upon release.

Design updates

If we look at the design, the 2025 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has continued its retro vibe but adds modern features. The test bike features a new round LED headlight, which further adds to the modern classic look while also upgrading the cosmetics. The changes we see is in the fuel tank which appears to be redesigned, maintaining the signature teardrop shape but now with a flush-fitting fuel lid, adding to the bike’s streamlined aesthetic. The rear fender has also been changed, making it look sleeker, while the rear gets a new circular LED tail light along with turn indicators. One of the major changes is the updated suspension system. The test model features a larger telescopic front fork, hinting at improved stability and handling on various terrains. In the original model, it received complaints regarding the shock absorbers which is why now at the rear, twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload have been introduced. These changes are expected to significantly enhance the bike’s comfort and agility, making it more suitable for both city and highway riding. Other updates in the new Interceptor 650 is in the braking system which is equipped with twin front discs and axially mounted Bybre brake calipers. Let us tell you that previously there used to be single-disc setup.

Tech-Focused Instrument Cluster

Furthermore, the classic twin-pod analogue instrument cluster has been replaced with a sleek, chrome-ringed single-pod TFT display. This new version offers several modern features like Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, catering to riders who seek a blend of classic aesthetics and modern functionality. This upgrade marks a significant technological leap for the Interceptor, following the current industry standards for motorcycle instrumentation.

The updated Interceptor 650 features the same engine as the previous model which is 648cc parallel-twin engine that produces 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. This engine continues to be a strong point for the Interceptor, providing sufficient power for spirited rides. The test bike also features a new exhaust design, hinting at potential acoustic enhancements that might appeal to riders who appreciate a distinct exhaust note.

Expected Launch and Price

It is expected to debut at EICMA and may launch anytime in the next few months because it looks like it is all ready. The updated Interceptor 650 is likely to be priced between Rs 3.10 lakh and Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom). As it has improved suspension, braking, and modern features, it will ensure that the Interceptor remains relevant in an increasingly competitive motorcycle market.
