Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is getting an overwhelming response for the lottery 2024. The lottery application that began on august 9, 2024 has now witnessed more than 1 lakh applications for 2030 affordable homes in Mumbai. When compared to last year’s lottery, that is 2023, 1 lakh applications were received for around 4000 homes. This shows growing interest among people to participate in the lottery.
Among the 2030 homes, a total of 1327 units have been constructed by the MHADA, the next 370 units have been taken from the development projects, which means that the old mhada colony along with unsafe buildings that were approximately build before 1940 and clusters of updated structures will be the built and will be offered through the lottery. And the remaining 333 units have been taken from the previous lotteries.
The apartments that will be allotted for the winners range from rupees 29 lakh to 6.82 crore and Let us remind you that today is the last day for applying for the lottery as the closing period is September 19, 2024. Among all the apartments the costliest is Rs 6.82 crore that is located in Tardeo, South Mumbai, with a size of over 1,500 sq. ft., offering sea views and overlooking Mahalaxmi Racecourse.
However, it is important to know that the apartments have been reserved for four categories. Among the total 2030 homes, 359 units have been reserved for the Economically Weaker Section(EWS), 627 units for the Lower Income Group (LIG), 768 units for the Middle Income Group (MIG), 276 units for the Higher Income Group (HIG). Most units in the higher income group (HIG) are being offered in the range of ₹1 crore and ₹6 crore plus. These are located in areas like Andheri, Antop Hill, Juhu, Goregaon, Tardeo, Vikhroli, Powai among several others.
Till September 18, a total of 1.10 lakh applications were received among which 86,288 applicants have paid the Earnest Money Deposit (EDM). To apply for MHADA lottery 2024 you will have to do a completely online process and homebuyers can track updates at mhada.gov.in. The winners of this lottery will randomly be allotted with one specific apartment from the available units. Hurry up as the Applications for the MHADA Lottery 2024 end on September 19, 2024, at 12:00 PM (noon). The online payment for Earnest Money Deposit can be made until 11:59 p.m. today. And it is also important to make your payments, RTGS/NEFT, within today’s banks operational hours. The draw will take place on October 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Nariman Point, Mumbai.
